¹⁸ And he added, “Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong^(A) am I guilty of?

⁹ He said to Saul, “Why do you listen^(A) when men say, ‘David is bent on harming^(B) you’?

¹¹ See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut^(A) off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. See that there is nothing in my hand to indicate that I am guilty^(B) of wrongdoing^(C) or rebellion. I have not wronged^(D) you, but you are hunting^(E) me down to take my life.^{(F) 12} May the Lord judge^(G) between you and me. And may the Lord avenge^(H) the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. ¹³ As the old saying goes, ‘From evildoers come evil deeds,^(I)’ so my hand will not touch you.

¹⁴ “Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Who are you pursuing? A dead dog?^(J) A flea?^(K)

²³ “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?”^(A)

³² but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”

⁴⁶ Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?
