²⁷ And now ^(A)this present which your maidservant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.

²⁶ Now when David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the ^[a]spoil to the elders of Judah, to his friends, saying, “Here is a present for you from the spoil of the enemies of the Lord”—

¹¹ Please, take ^(A)my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt ^(B)graciously with me, and because I have ^[a]enough.” ^(C)So he urged him, and he took it.

¹⁵ And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is ^(A)no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take ^(B)a gift from your servant.”

⁵ Therefore I thought it necessary to ^[a]exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a ^[b]grudging obligation.

² And the king said to Ziba, “What do you mean to do with these?”

So Ziba said, “The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on, the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine for ^(A)those who are faint in the wilderness to drink.”

⁴² So Abigail rose in haste and rode on a donkey, ^[a]attended by five of her maidens; and she followed the messengers of David, and became his wife.

¹⁰ And Barak called ^(A)Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; he went up with ten thousand men ^(B)under^[a] his command, and Deborah went up with him.
