The Death of Samuel

25 ^(A)Now Samuel died. And all Israel assembled ^(B)and mourned for him, and they buried him ^(C)in his house at ^(D)Ramah.

Then David rose and went down to ^(E)the wilderness of Paran.

³ Now ^(A)Samuel had died, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him ^(B)in Ramah, his own city. And Saul had put ^(C)the mediums and the necromancers out of the land.

⁸ And the people of Israel ^(A)wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

²⁹ And when all the congregation saw that Aaron had perished, ^(A)all the house of Israel wept for Aaron thirty days.

²⁰ So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his house, and Amon his son reigned in his place.

² Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him.

¹² and the people of Israel ^(A)set out by stages from the ^(B)wilderness of Sinai. And the cloud settled down in the ^(C)wilderness of Paran.

²¹ He lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt.

³⁴ Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and struck him down and put him to death. And he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

³ So Moses sent them from ^(A)the wilderness of Paran, according to the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the people of Israel.
