⁸ Afterward David also rose up and went out of the cave and called after Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the ground and did obeisance.^(A)

²³ When Abigail saw David, she hurried and dismounted from the donkey and fell before David on her face, bowing to the ground.^{(A) 24} She fell at his feet and said, “Upon me alone, my lord, be the guilt; please let your servant speak in your ears and hear the words of your servant.^(B)

⁷ Pay to all what is due them: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

¹⁷ Saul recognized David’s voice and said, “Is this your voice, my son David?” David said, “It is my voice, my lord, O king.”^(A)

⁴¹ As soon as the boy had gone, David rose from beside the stone heap^[a] and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. He bowed three times, and they kissed each other and wept with each other; David wept the more.^[b]

¹² “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.^(A)

³ Then Abram fell on his face, and God said to him,

¹⁷ Honor everyone. Love the family of believers.^[a] Fear God. Honor the emperor.^(A)
