⁸ David also arose afterward, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, saying, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down.

²³ Now when Abigail saw David, she ^(A)dismounted quickly from the donkey, fell on her face before David, and bowed down to the ground. ²⁴ So she fell at his feet and said: “On me, my lord, on me let this iniquity be! And please let your maidservant ^[a]speak in your ears, and hear the words of your maidservant.

^7 (A)Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

¹⁷ Then Saul knew David’s voice, and said, ^(A)“Is that your voice, my son David?”

David said, “It is my voice, my lord, O king.”

⁴¹ As soon as the lad had gone, David arose from a place toward the south, fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down three times. And they kissed one another; and they wept together, but David more so.

³ Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:

¹⁷ Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear ^(A)God. Honor the king.
