¹⁶ So it was, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, ^(A)“Is this your voice, my son David?” And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.

¹⁷ Then Saul knew David’s voice, and said, ^(A)“Is that your voice, my son David?”

David said, “It is my voice, my lord, O king.”

¹⁰ And ^(A)they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom ^(A)which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or ^[a]resist.

A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath
