^29 [a]David then went up from there and lived in the strongholds of En-gedi.^(A)

² Messengers^[a] came and told Jehoshaphat, “A great multitude is coming against you from Edom,^[b] from beyond the sea; already they are at Hazazon-tamar” (that is, En-gedi).^(A)

David Spares Saul’s Life

24 When Saul returned from following the Philistines, he was told, “David is in the wilderness of En-gedi.”^(A)
