¹² Again David asked, “Will the citizens of Keilah surrender^(A) me and my men to Saul?”

And the Lord said, “They will.”

²⁰ Now, Your Majesty, come down whenever it pleases you to do so, and we will be responsible for giving^(A) him into your hands.”

¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.^(A) Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

¹⁴ There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siege works against it. ¹⁵ Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man.^(A)

Saul Pursues David

⁷ Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, and he said, “God has delivered him into my hands,^(A) for David has imprisoned himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”^(B)
