³² And you will see an enemy in My dwelling place, despite all the good which God does for Israel. And there shall not be ^(A)an old man in your house forever.

⁴ “Thus says the Lord of hosts:

¹¹ Also ^(A)the ark of God was captured; and ^(B)the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

Abiathar Exiled, Joab Executed

²⁶ And to Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to ^(A)Anathoth, to your own fields, for ^[a]you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, ^(B)because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted.” ²⁷ So Solomon removed Abiathar from being priest to the Lord, that he might ^(C)fulfill the word of the Lord which He spoke concerning the house of Eli at Shiloh.

²² And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”

⁴ So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, ^(A)who dwells between ^(B)the cherubim. And the ^(C)two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
