²⁶ Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the Lord and with the people.^(A)

⁵² And Jesus increased in wisdom and in years^[a] and in divine and human favor.^(A)

⁴⁰ The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.^(A)

¹⁸ The one who serves Christ in this way is acceptable to God and has human approval.^(A)

⁴⁷ praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.^(A)

²¹ And^[a] the Lord took note of Hannah; she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.^(A)

⁸⁰ The child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day he appeared publicly to Israel.^(A)
