^24 (A)And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down ^(B)naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, ^(C)“Is Saul also among the prophets?”

Mourning for Israel and Judah

² at the same time the Lord spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and remove ^(A)the sackcloth from your ^[a]body, and take your sandals off your feet.” And he did so, ^(B)walking naked and barefoot.

^20 (A)Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, ^(B)uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the ^(C)base fellows ^[a]shamelessly uncovers himself!”

^10 (A)When they came there to the hill, there was ^(B)a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. ¹¹ And it happened, when all who knew him formerly saw that he indeed prophesied among the prophets, that the people said to one another, “What is this that has come upon the son of Kish? ^(C)Is Saul also among the prophets?” ¹² Then a man from there answered and said, “But ^(D)who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb: “Is Saul also among the prophets?”

²¹ Then all who heard were amazed, and said, ^(A)“Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?”

¹⁴ Then David ^(A)danced^[a] before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing ^(B)a linen ephod.
