¹⁸ When David had fled and made his escape, he went to Samuel at Ramah^(A) and told him all that Saul had done to him. Then he and Samuel went to Naioth and stayed there.

¹⁷ But he always went back to Ramah,^(A) where his home was, and there he also held court^(B) for Israel. And he built an altar^(C) there to the Lord.

¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins^(A) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.^(B) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.^(C)

Saul and the Medium at Endor

³ Now Samuel was dead,^(A) and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah.^(B) Saul had expelled^(C) the mediums and spiritists^(D) from the land.

³⁴ Then Samuel left for Ramah,^(A) but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah^(B) of Saul.
