^30 (A)Then the commanders of the Philistines came out to battle, and as often as they came out ^(B)David had more success than all the servants of Saul, so that his name was highly esteemed.

11 ^(A)(B)In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged ^(C)Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.

⁵ And David went out ^(A)and was successful wherever Saul sent him, so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants.

⁷ So the honor is for you who ^(A)believe, but for those who ^(B)do not believe,

⁴ As you come to him, a living stone ^(A)rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,

^15 (A)Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,

¹⁵ for ^(A)I will give you a mouth and ^(B)wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or ^(C)contradict.

²⁰ And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all ^(A)the magicians and ^(B)enchanters that were in all his kingdom.
