³⁹ David strapped Saul’s sword over the armor, and he tried in vain to walk, for he was not used to them. Then David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I am not used to them.” So David removed them.

⁴ for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human,^[a] but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments^{(A) 5} and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.^(B)

⁶ He said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.^(A)

⁷ But I will have pity on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the Lord their God; I will not save them by bow or by sword or by war or by horses or by horsemen.”^(A)
