^24 (A)Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I ^(B)feared the people and obeyed their voice.

^13 (A)So David said to Nathan, ^(B)“I have sinned against the Lord.”

And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has ^(C)put away your sin; you shall not die.

³⁴ And Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, ^(A)“I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it ^[a]displeases You, I will turn back.”

^8 (A)But the cowardly, ^[a]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in ^(B)the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

¹⁰ For ^(A)do I now ^(B)persuade men, or God? Or ^(C)do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

^2 (A)You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; ^(B)nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.

²⁰ Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. ²¹ But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”

²² Then he said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go.”

²³ But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men ^[a]and of the chief priests prevailed. ²⁴ So ^(A)Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested. ^25 (B)And he released ^[b]to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
