¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord: I am going to send you off the face of the earth. Within this year you will be dead, for you have spoken rebellion against the Lord.”^(A)

¹⁴ but now your kingdom will not continue; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has appointed him to be ruler over his people because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”^(A)

⁶ “If any turn to mediums or spiritualists, prostituting themselves to them, I will set my face against them and will cut them off from the people.^(A)

²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions,

³² therefore thus says the Lord: I am going to punish Shemaiah of Nehelam and his descendants; he shall not have anyone living among this people to see^[a] the good that I am going to do to my people, says the Lord, for he has spoken rebellion against the Lord.^(A)

¹⁰ No one shall be found among you who makes a son or daughter pass through fire, or who practices divination, or is a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer,^{(A) 11} or one who casts spells, or who consults ghosts or spirits, or who seeks oracles from the dead.

¹⁶ What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we^[a] are the temple of the living God, as God said,

⁵ Whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house), they shall know that there has been a prophet among them.^{(A) 6} And you, O mortal, do not be afraid of them, and do not be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns surround you and you live among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words, and do not be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.^{(B) 7} You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.^(C)

⁸ “But you, mortal, hear what I say to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”^(D)
