¹⁰ Then they cried out to the Lord, and said, ^(A)‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord ^(B)and served the Baals and ^[a]Ashtoreths; but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies, and we will serve You.’

^10 (A)And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have ^(B)sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!”

¹³ They forsook the Lord ^(A)and served ^[a]Baal and the ^[b]Ashtoreths.

¹⁵ And the children of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned! ^(A)Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray.” ^16 (B)So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord. And ^(C)His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel.

⁹ When the children of Israel ^(A)cried out to the Lord, the Lord ^(B)raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: ^(C)Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

⁷ So the children of Israel did ^(A)evil in the sight of the Lord. They ^(B)forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and ^[a]Asherahs.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that ^(A)if One died for all, then all died; ¹⁵ and He died for all, ^(B)that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
