¹¹ The next day Saul put the people in three companies. At the morning watch they came into the camp and cut down the Ammonites until the heat of the day, and those who survived were scattered, so that no two of them were left together.^(A)

¹⁶ After he divided the three hundred men into three companies and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars,

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.^(A)

² For the judgment you give will be the judgment you get, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.

¹⁷ David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not one of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who mounted camels and fled.^{(A) 18} David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and David rescued his two wives.

² But Nahash the Ammonite said to them, “On this condition I will make a treaty with you, namely, that I gouge out everyone’s right eye and thus put disgrace upon all Israel.”^(A)

⁴³ he took his troops and divided them into three companies and lay in wait in the fields. When he looked and saw the people coming out of the city, he rose against them and killed them.
