²⁶ Saul also went to his home at Gibeah, and with him went warriors whose hearts God had touched.^(A)

⁴ When the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul, they reported the matter in the hearing of the people, and all the people wept aloud.^(A)

³⁴ Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.^(A)

⁴⁸ When the gentiles heard this, they were glad and praised the word of the Lord, and as many as had been destined for eternal life became believers.

¹⁰ and rescued him from all his afflictions and enabled him to win favor and to show wisdom when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who appointed him ruler over Egypt and over all his household.^(A)

⁶ let seven of his sons be handed over to us, and we will impale them before the Lord at Gibeon on the mountain of the Lord.”^[a] The king said, “I will hand them over.”

¹⁴ The Benjaminites came together out of the towns to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the Israelites.

¹² But his master said to him, “We will not turn aside into a city of foreigners, who do not belong to the people of Israel, but we will continue on to Gibeah.”^{(A) 13} Then he said to his servant, “Come, let us try to reach one of these places and spend the night at Gibeah or at Ramah.” ¹⁴ So they passed on and went their way, and the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin. ¹⁵ They turned aside there, to go in and spend the night at Gibeah. He went in and sat down in the open square of the city, but no one took them in to spend the night.^(B)

¹⁶ Then at evening there was an old man coming from his work in the field. The man was from the hill country of Ephraim, and he was residing in Gibeah. (The people of the place were Benjaminites.)^(C)

²⁸ Zela, Haeleph, Jebus^[a] (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah,^[b] and Kiriath-jearim^[c]—fourteen towns with their villages. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin according to its families.^(A)
