²⁶ Saul also went to his home ^(A)at Gibeah, and with him went men of valor whose hearts God had touched.

⁴ When the messengers came to ^(A)Gibeah of Saul, they reported the matter in the ears of the people, ^(B)and all the people wept aloud.

³⁴ Then Samuel went ^(A)to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in ^(B)Gibeah of Saul.

⁴⁸ And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and ^(A)glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

¹⁰ and rescued him out of all his afflictions and ^(A)gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, ^(B)who made him ruler over Egypt and over all his household.

⁶ let seven of his sons be given to us, so that we may hang them before the Lord at ^(A)Gibeah of Saul, ^(B)the chosen of the Lord.” And the king said, “I will give them.”

¹⁴ Then the people of Benjamin came together out of the cities to Gibeah to go out to battle against the people of Israel.

¹² And his master said to him, “We will not turn aside into the city of foreigners, who do not belong to the people of Israel, but we will pass on to ^(A)Gibeah.” ¹³ And he said to his young man, “Come and let us draw near to one of these places and spend the night at Gibeah or at ^(B)Ramah.” ¹⁴ So they passed on and went their way. And the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin, ¹⁵ and they turned aside there, to go in and spend the night at Gibeah. And he went in and sat down in the open square of the city, ^(C)for no one took them into his house to spend the night.

¹⁶ And behold, an old man was coming from his work in the field at evening. The man was from ^(D)the hill country of Ephraim, and he was sojourning in Gibeah. ^(E)The men of the place were Benjaminites.
