12 Cuando Ben Adad recibió la respuesta de Ajab, estaba en su campamento bebiendo con los demás reyes, y al instante ordenó a sus oficiales que se prepararan para atacar la ciudad. 13 Pero un profeta fue a ver al rey Ajab de Israel, y le dijo:
«Así ha dicho el Señor: “¿Ves esta gran muchedumbre? Hoy mismo voy a entregarla en tus manos, para que reconozcas que yo soy el Señor.”»
14 Y Ajab le preguntó:
«¿Y quién me ayudará a derrotarlos?»
Y el profeta respondió:
«Así ha dicho el Señor: “Te ayudarán los siervos de los jefes de las provincias.”»
Pero Ajab volvió a preguntar:
«¿Y quién atacará primero?»
Y el profeta le dijo:
«Tú atacarás primero.»

12 Ben-Hadad heard this message while he and the kings were drinking(A) in their tents,[a] and he ordered his men: “Prepare to attack.” So they prepared to attack the city.
Ahab Defeats Ben-Hadad
13 Meanwhile a prophet(B) came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know(C) that I am the Lord.’”
14 “But who will do this?” asked Ahab.
The prophet replied, “This is what the Lord says: ‘The junior officers under the provincial commanders will do it.’”
“And who will start(D) the battle?” he asked.
The prophet answered, “You will.”
