7 (A) På samma sätt ska ni män leva förståndigt med era hustrur, som är det svagare kärlet[a]. Visa dem aktning som medarvingar till livets nåd så att inget står i vägen för era böner.

8 (B) Till sist ska ni alla visa enighet, medkänsla, syskonkärlek, barmhärtighet och ödmjukhet. 9 (C) Löna inte ont med ont eller hån med hån. Tvärtom ska ni välsigna, för ni är kallade att ärva välsignelse.

8 [b]To sum up, (C)all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, [c](D)loving, (E)compassionate, and (F)humble; 9 (G)not returning evil for evil or (H)insult for insult, but giving a (I)blessing instead; for (J)you were called for the very purpose that you would (K)inherit a blessing.
