5 Therefore, I urge the congregation leaders among you, as a fellow-leader and witness to the Messiah’s sufferings, as well as a sharer in the glory to be revealed: 2 shepherd the flock of God that is in your care, exercising oversight not out of constraint, but willingly, as God wants; and not out of a desire for dishonest gain, but with enthusiasm; 3 also not as machers domineering over those in your care, but as people who become examples to the flock. 4 Then, when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive glory as your unfading crown.
5 Likewise, you who are less experienced, submit to leaders. Further, all of you should clothe yourselves in humility toward one another, because
God opposes the arrogant,
but to the humble he gives grace.[a]
6 Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time he may lift you up. 7 Throw all your anxieties upon him, because he cares about you.
8 Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand against him, firm in your trust, knowing that your brothers throughout the world are going through the same kinds of suffering. 10 You will have to suffer only a little while; after that, God, who is full of grace, the one who called you to his eternal glory in union with the Messiah, will himself restore, establish and strengthen you and make you firm. 11 To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.
12 Through Sila, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written you briefly, encouraging you and giving my witness that this is God’s true grace. Stand firm in it!
13 Your sister congregation in Bavel, chosen along with you, sends greetings to you, as does my son Mark. 14 Greet each other with a kiss of love.
“Shalom aleikhem!” to all who belong to the Messiah.

6 Therefore (Q)humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 having cast all your (R)anxiety on Him, because He cares about you. 8 (S)Be of sober spirit, (T)be on the alert. Your adversary, (U)the devil, prowls around like a roaring (V)lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 [h](W)So resist him, (X)firm in your faith, knowing that (Y)the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your [i]brothers and sisters who are in the world. 10 After you have suffered (Z)for a little while, the (AA)God of all grace, who (AB)called you to His (AC)eternal glory in Christ, will Himself (AD)perfect, (AE)confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 (AF)To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.

劝勉长老
5 我是基督受苦的见证人，将分享以后所显明的荣耀。我以长老的身份劝你们中间做长老的： 2 务要牧养上帝托付给你们的羊群，按着上帝的旨意甘心乐意地照顾他们，不是出于勉强，不是为了谋利，而是出于热诚。 3 不要辖制托付给你们的羊群，而是要做群羊的榜样。 4 等到大牧长显现的时候，你们必得到永不衰残的荣耀冠冕。
5 你们年轻的要顺服年长的，大家都要存谦卑的心彼此服侍。因为上帝阻挡骄傲的人，恩待谦卑的人。 6 所以你们要在上帝大能的手下谦卑，时候到了，祂必擢升你们。 7 你们要把一切忧虑卸给上帝，因为祂眷顾你们。
