⁸你們要謹守、警醒。你們的仇敵魔鬼，好像吼叫的獅子走來走去，尋找可以吞吃的人； ⁹你們要用堅強的信心抵擋他，因為知道你們在世上的弟兄，也經歷過同樣的苦難。 ¹⁰但滿有恩典的　神，就是在基督裡召你們進入他永遠榮耀的那一位，在你們受了短暫的苦難之後，必定親自成全你們，堅固你們，賜力量給你們，建立你們。

⁸Be alert and of sober mind.^(A) Your enemy the devil prowls around^(B) like a roaring lion^(C) looking for someone to devour. ⁹Resist him,^(D) standing firm in the faith,^(E) because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.^(F)

¹⁰And the God of all grace, who called you^(G) to his eternal glory^(H) in Christ, after you have suffered a little while,^(I) will himself restore you and make you strong,^(J) firm and steadfast.
