1 Peter 5:2-10

^2 (A)shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight,^{[a] (B)}not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;^{[b] (C)}not for shameful gain, but eagerly; ³ not ^(D)domineering over those in your charge, but ^(E)being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when ^(F)the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the ^(G)unfading ^(H)crown of glory. ⁵ Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. ^(I)Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ^(J)“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

^6 (K)Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, ^7 (L)casting all your anxieties on him, because ^(M)he cares for you. ^8 (N)Be sober-minded; ^(O)be watchful. Your ^(P)adversary the devil ^(Q)prowls around ^(R)like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. ^9 (S)Resist him, ^(T)firm in your faith, knowing that ^(U)the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. ¹⁰ And ^(V)after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, ^(W)who has called you to his ^(X)eternal glory in Christ, will himself ^(Y)restore, ^(Z)confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
