1 Peter 4:6-8
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
6 For this is why the good news (the Gospel) was preached [[a]in their lifetime] even to the dead, that though judged in fleshly bodies as men are, they might live in the spirit as God does.
7 But the end and culmination of all things has now come near; keep sound minded and self-restrained and alert therefore for [the practice of] prayer.
8 Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and [b]disregards the offenses of others].(A)

1 Peter 4:6-8
New International Version
6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead,(A) so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
7 The end of all things is near.(B) Therefore be alert and of sober mind(C) so that you may pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply,(D) because love covers over a multitude of sins.(E)
1 Peter 4:6-8
King James Version
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
