⁹ But you are ^(A)a chosen race, ^(B)a royal ^(C)priesthood, ^(D)a holy nation, ^(E)a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you ^(F)out of darkness into ^(G)his marvelous light.

¹⁹ It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, ^(A)devoid of the Spirit. ²⁰ But you, beloved, ^(B)building yourselves up in your most holy faith and ^(C)praying in the Holy Spirit, ^21 (D)keep yourselves in the love of God, ^(E)waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. ²² And have mercy on those who doubt; ²³ save others by ^(F)snatching them out of ^(G)the fire; to others show mercy ^(H)with fear, hating even ^(I)the garment^[a] stained by the flesh.
