⁸ Though you have not seen^[a] him, you love him. And even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, ⁹ because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

¹⁰ Even the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours, carefully researched and investigated this salvation.
