¹⁸ Now

²⁴ “But ^(A)when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? ^(B)All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.

^31 (A)For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?”

⁵ and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; ⁶ and turning the cities of ^(A)Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

¹⁵ to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the ^(A)harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

³⁹ But we are not of those ^(B)who draw back to ^[b]perdition, but of those who ^(C)believe to the saving of the soul.

¹² Therefore ^(A)let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

⁷ But ^(A)the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for ^(B)fire until the day of judgment and ^[a]perdition of ungodly men.
