^14 (A)But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. ^(B)Have no fear of them, ^(C)nor be troubled,

¹⁹ For this is a gracious thing, when, ^(A)mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. ²⁰ For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But ^(B)if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.

¹² “Do not call ^(A)conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and ^(B)do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. ¹³ But the Lord of hosts, ^(C)him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

²² “Blessed are you when ^(A)people hate you and when they ^(B)exclude you and revile you and ^(C)spurn your name as evil, ^(D)on account of the Son of Man! ^23 (E)Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for ^(F)so their fathers did to the prophets.

²⁸ And ^(A)do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him ^(B)who can destroy both soul and body in hell.^[a]

¹³ But rejoice ^(A)insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad ^(B)when his glory is revealed. ^14 (C)If you are insulted ^(D)for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory^[a] and of God rests upon you. ¹⁵ But ^(E)let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or ^(F)as a meddler. ¹⁶ Yet ^(G)if anyone suffers as a ^(H)Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God ^(I)in that name.

^27 (A)Peace I leave with you; ^(B)my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. ^(C)Let not your hearts be troubled, neither ^(D)let them be afraid.
