⁵ you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of ^(A)darkness into His marvelous light;

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, ^(A)the faithful ^(B)witness, the ^(C)firstborn from the dead, and ^(D)the ruler over the kings of the earth.

To Him ^(E)who ^[a]loved us ^(F)and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

⁶ and has ^(A)made us ^[a]kings and priests to His God and Father, ^(B)to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

⁵ And he was given ^(A)a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to ^[a]continue for ^(B)forty-two months. ⁶ Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, ^(C)His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. ⁷ It was granted to him ^(D)to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And ^(E)authority was given him over every ^[b]tribe, tongue, and nation. ⁸ All who dwell on the earth will worship him, ^(F)whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain ^(G)from the foundation of the world.

The Two Witnesses

11 Then I was given ^(A)a reed like a measuring rod. ^[a]And the angel stood, saying, ^(B)“Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there.

²⁰ Nevertheless I have ^[a]a few things against you, because you allow ^[b]that woman ^(A)Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, ^[c]to teach and seduce My servants ^(B)to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. ²¹ And I gave her time ^(C)to ^[d]repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. ²² Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of ^[e]their deeds.

⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ^(A)“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. ^5 (B)For her sins ^[a]have reached to heaven, and ^(C)God has remembered her iniquities. ^6 (D)Render to her just as she rendered ^[b]to you, and repay her double according to her works; ^(E)in the cup which she has mixed, ^(F)mix double for her. ^7 (G)In the measure that she glorified herself and lived ^[c]luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as ^(H)queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ ⁸ Therefore her plagues will come ^(I)in one day—death and mourning and famine. And ^(J)she will be utterly burned with fire, ^(K)for strong is the Lord God who ^[d]judges her.
