Jakob bröt upp från Beer-Sheba. Och Israels söner satte sin fader Jakob, sina små barn och sina hustrur på vagnarna som farao hade skickat för att hämta honom. De tog sin boskap och de ägodelar som de hade skaffat sig i Kanaans land och kom till Egypten, Jakob och alla hans ättlingar med honom. Sina söner och sonsöner, sina döttrar och sondöttrar, alla sina ättlingar förde han med sig till Egypten.[a]

Then Jacob set out from Beersheba. The sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons (A)that Pharaoh had sent to carry him. They also took their livestock and their goods, which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and (B)came into Egypt, Jacob and all his offspring with him, his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters. All his offspring he brought with him into Egypt.
