Jakobs Beerdigung im Land Kanaan
50 Da fiel Joseph auf das Angesicht seines Vaters und weinte über ihm und küsste ihn.
2 Danach befahl Joseph seinen Dienern, den Ärzten, dass sie seinen Vater einbalsamierten; und die Ärzte balsamierten Israel ein.
3 Und sie verwendeten darauf volle 40 Tage; denn so lange dauert die Einbalsamierung; aber beweint haben ihn die Ägypter 70 Tage lang.
4 Als aber die Tage der Trauer um ihn vorüber waren, redete Joseph mit dem Haus des Pharao und sprach: Wenn ich Gnade gefunden habe in euren Augen, so redet doch vor den Ohren des Pharao und sprecht:
5 Mein Vater hat einen Eid von mir genommen und zu mir gesagt: Siehe, ich sterbe; begrabe mich in meinem Grab, das ich mir im Land Kanaan angelegt habe! So lass mich nun hinaufziehen, dass ich meinen Vater begrabe und danach wiederkomme!
6 Und der Pharao sprach: Zieh hinauf und begrabe deinen Vater, wie er dich hat schwören lassen!
7 Da zog Joseph hinauf, um seinen Vater zu begraben; und mit ihm zogen alle Knechte des Pharao hinauf, alle Ältesten seines Hauses und alle Ältesten des Landes Ägypten;
8 dazu das ganze Haus Josephs und seine Brüder und das Haus seines Vaters; nur ihre Kinder, Schafe und Rinder ließen sie im Land Gosen zurück.
9 Es begleiteten ihn auch Wagen und Reiter, und es war ein großer Heerzug.
10 Als sie nun zur Tenne Atad kamen, die jenseits des Jordan liegt, hielten sie dort eine große und feierliche Totenklage; denn [Joseph] veranstaltete für seinen Vater eine siebentägige Trauer.
11 Als aber die Bewohner des Landes, die Kanaaniter, die Trauer bei der Tenne Atad sahen, sprachen sie: Die Ägypter halten da eine große Klage! Daher wurde der Ort, der jenseits des Jordan liegt, »Die Klage der Ägypter« genannt.
12 Seine Söhne aber handelten so, wie er ihnen befohlen hatte:
13 sie führten ihn ins Land Kanaan und begruben ihn in der Höhle des Ackers Machpelah, die Abraham samt dem Acker als Erbbegräbnis gekauft hatte von Ephron, dem Hetiter, gegenüber von Mamre.
14 Joseph aber kehrte nach dem Begräbnis seines Vaters wieder nach Ägypten zurück, er und seine Brüder und alle, die mit ihm hinaufgezogen waren, um seinen Vater zu begraben.
Josephs Bruderliebe. Gottes Plan
15 Als nun Josephs Brüder sahen, dass ihr Vater gestorben war, sprachen sie: Joseph könnte gegen uns feindselig werden und uns all die Bosheit vergelten, die wir an ihm verübt haben!
16 Darum ließen sie Joseph sagen: Dein Vater befahl vor seinem Tod und sprach:
17 So sollt ihr zu Joseph sagen: Bitte, vergib doch deinen Brüdern die Schuld und ihre Sünde, dass sie so Böses an dir getan haben! So vergib nun den Knechten des Gottes deines Vaters ihre Schuld! Da weinte Joseph, als sie ihm das sagen ließen.
18 Dann gingen seine Brüder selbst hin und fielen vor ihm nieder und sprachen: Siehe, wir sind deine Knechte!
19 Aber Joseph sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht! Bin ich denn an Gottes Stelle?
20 Ihr gedachtet mir zwar Böses zu tun; aber Gott gedachte es gut zu machen,[a] um es so hinauszuführen, wie es jetzt zutage liegt, um ein zahlreiches Volk am Leben zu erhalten.
21 So fürchtet euch nun nicht; ich will euch und eure Kinder versorgen! Und er tröstete sie und redete freundlich mit ihnen.[b]
Josephs letzte Tage. Sein Tod
22 Und Joseph blieb in Ägypten, er und das Haus seines Vaters; und Joseph lebte 110 Jahre.
23 Und Joseph sah die Kinder Ephraims bis in das dritte Glied; auch die Kinder Machirs, des Sohnes Manasses, saßen noch auf Josephs Knien.[c]
24 Und Joseph sprach zu seinen Brüdern: Ich sterbe; aber Gott wird euch gewiss heimsuchen und euch aus diesem Land hinaufführen in das Land, das er Abraham, Isaak und Jakob zugeschworen hat.
25 Und Joseph nahm einen Eid von den Söhnen Israels und sprach: Gewisslich wird Gott euch heimsuchen, und ihr sollt dann meine Gebeine von hier hinaufbringen!
26 Und Joseph starb, 110 Jahre alt; und man balsamierte ihn ein und legte ihn in einen Sarg in Ägypten.

Àwọn ará Ejibiti sì ṣọ̀fọ̀ rẹ̀ fún àádọ́rin ọjọ́.
4 Nígbà tí ọjọ́ ìṣọ̀fọ̀ náà kọjá. Josẹfu wí fún àwọn ará ilé Farao pé, “Bí mo bá bá ojúrere yín pàdé, ẹ bá mi sọ fún Farao. 5 (A)‘Baba mi mú mi búra ó sì wí fún mi pé, “Mo ti fẹ́rẹ kú: sinmi sínú ibojì tí mo gbẹ́ fún ara mi ní ilẹ̀ Kenaani.” Nísinsin yìí, jẹ́ kí n lọ kí n sì sìnkú baba mi, lẹ́yìn náà èmi yóò padà wa.’ ”
6 Farao wí pé, “Gòkè lọ, kí o sì sin baba rẹ, bí ó tí mú ọ búra.”
7 Báyìí ni Josẹfu gòkè lọ láti sìnkú baba rẹ̀. Gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè Farao ni ó sìn ín lọ—àwọn àgbàgbà ilé rẹ̀, àti gbogbo àwọn àgbàgbà ilẹ̀ Ejibiti. 8 Yàtọ̀ fún gbogbo àwọn ará ilé Josẹfu àti ti àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ àti àwọn tí ó jẹ́ ilé baba rẹ̀, àwọn ọmọ wọn nìkan àti agbo ẹran pẹ̀lú agbo màlúù ni ó sẹ́ kù ní Goṣeni. 9 Kẹ̀kẹ́-ẹṣin àti àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣin pẹ̀lú gòkè lọ. 15 Nígbà tí àwọn arákùnrin Josẹfu rí i pé baba wọn kú, wọ́n wí fún ara wọn pé, “Ǹjẹ́ bí ó bá ṣe pé Josẹfu ṣì fi wá sínú ńkọ́, tí ó sì fẹ́ gbẹ̀san gbogbo aburú tí a ti ṣe sí i?” 16 Nítorí náà wọ́n ránṣẹ́ sí Josẹfu wí pé, “Baba rẹ fi àṣẹ yìí sílẹ̀ kí ó tó lọ wí pé: 17 ‘Èyí ni kí ẹ̀yin kí ó sọ fún Josẹfu: Mo bẹ̀ ọ́ kí o dáríjì àwọn arákùnrin rẹ, gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àti aburú tí wọ́n ṣe sí ọ, èyí tí ó mú ibi bá ọ’. Nísinsin yìí, jọ̀wọ́ dárí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run baba rẹ jì wọ́n.” Nígbà tí iṣẹ́ ti wọ́n rán dé ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, Josẹfu sọkún.
18 Àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ wá, wọ́n sì wólẹ̀ níwájú rẹ̀, wọ́n wí pé, “Ẹrú rẹ ni a jẹ́.” 19 Ṣùgbọ́n Josẹfu wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù, èmi ha wà ní ipò Ọlọ́run bí? 20 Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ẹ gbèrò láti ṣe mi ní ibi, ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run gbèrò láti fi ṣe rere tí ń ṣe lọ́wọ́ yìí; ni gbígba ẹ̀mí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ènìyàn là. 21 Nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù. Èmi yóò pèsè fún ẹ̀yin àti àwọn ọmọ yín.” Ó tún fi wọ́n lọ́kàn balẹ̀, ó sì sọ ọ̀rọ̀ rere fun wọn.
Ikú Josẹfu
22 Josẹfu sì ń gbé ní Ejibiti pẹ̀lú gbogbo ìdílé baba rẹ̀. Ó sì wà láààyè fún àádọ́fà (110) ọdún. 23 Ó sì rí ìran kẹta ọmọ Efraimu-Àwọn ọmọ Makiri, ọmọkùnrin Manase ni a sì gbé le eékún Josẹfu nígbà tí ó bí wọn.
24 Nígbà náà ni Josẹfu wí fún àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ pé, “Mo ti fẹ́rẹ kú, ṣùgbọ́n dájúdájú Ọlọ́run yóò wá sí ìrànlọ́wọ́ yín, yóò sì mú un yín jáde kúrò ní ilẹ̀ yìí lọ sí ilẹ̀ tí ó ti ṣèlérí ní ìbúra fún Abrahamu, Isaaki àti Jakọbu.” 25 Josẹfu sì mú kí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli búra májẹ̀mú kan wí pé, “Dájúdájú Ọlọ́run yóò wá sí ìrànlọ́wọ́ yín, nígbà náà ni ẹ gbọdọ̀ kó egungun mi lọ́wọ́ kúrò ní ìhín.”

Genesis 50
King James Version
50 And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.
2 And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
5 My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.
6 And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.
7 And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
8 And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.
10 And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.
11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
12 And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:
13 For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
14 And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.
15 And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
16 And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.
24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
26 So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
