Die Nachkommen Adams durch Seth bis Noah
5 Dies ist das Buch von Adams Geschlecht.
Am Tag, da Gott den Menschen schuf, machte er ihn Gott ähnlich; 2 als Mann und Frau[a] schuf er sie und segnete sie und nannte ihren Namen Adam[b] , am Tag, da er sie schuf.
3 Und Adam war 130 Jahre alt, als er einen Sohn zeugte, ihm selbst gleich, nach seinem Bild, und nannte ihn Seth. 4 Und nachdem er den Seth gezeugt, lebte Adam noch 800 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 5 so daß Adams ganzes Alter 930 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
6 Seth war 105 Jahre alt, als er den Enosch zeugte; 7 und Seth, nachdem er den Enosch gezeugt, lebte 807 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 8 so daß Seths ganzes Alter 912 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
9 Enosch war 90 Jahre alt, als er den Kenan zeugte; 10 und Enosch, nachdem er den Kenan gezeugt, lebte 815 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 11 so daß Enoschs ganzes Alter 905 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
12 Kenan war 70 Jahre alt, als er den Mahalaleel zeugte; 13 und Kenan, nachdem er den Mahalaleel gezeugt, lebte 840 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 14 so daß Kenans ganzes Alter 910 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
15 Mahalaleel war 65 Jahre alt, als er den Jared zeugte; 16 und Mahalaleel, nachdem er den Jared gezeugt, lebte 830 Jahre und hat Söhne und Töchter gezeugt; 17 so daß Mahalaleels ganzes Alter 895 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
18 Jared war 162 Jahre alt, als er den Henoch zeugte; 19 und Jared, nachdem er den Henoch gezeugt, lebte 800 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 20 so daß Jareds ganzes Alter 962 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
21 Henoch war 65 Jahre alt, als er den Methusalah zeugte; 22 und Henoch, nachdem er den Methusalah gezeugt, wandelte er mit Gott 300 Jahre lang und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 23 so daß Henochs ganzes Alter 365 Jahre betrug. 24 Und Henoch wandelte mit Gott und war nicht mehr, weil Gott ihn zu sich genommen hatte.
25 Methusalah war 187 Jahre alt, als er den Lamech zeugte; 26 und Methusalah, nachdem er den Lamech gezeugt, lebte 782 Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 27 so daß Methusalahs ganzes Alter 969 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
28 Lamech war 182 Jahre alt, als er einen Sohn zeugte; 29 den nannte er Noah[c] , indem er sprach: Der wird uns trösten ob unserer Hände Arbeit und Mühe, die herrührt von dem Erdboden, den der Herr verflucht hat! 30 Und Lamech, nachdem er den Noah gezeugt, lebte 590 Jahre lang und zeugte Söhne und Töchter; 31 so daß Lamechs ganzes Alter 772 Jahre betrug; dann starb er.
32 Und Noah war 500 Jahre alt, als er den Sem, Ham und Japhet zeugte.

From Adam to Noah
5 This is the written account(A) of Adam’s family line.(B)
When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.(C) 2 He created them(D) male and female(E) and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”[a] when they were created.
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image;(F) and he named him Seth.(G) 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.(H)
6 When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father[b] of Enosh.(I) 7 After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. 8 Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
9 When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.(J) 10 After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. 11 Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
12 When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.(K) 13 After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. 14 Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.
15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.(L) 16 After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. 17 Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
18 When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.(M) 19 After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20 Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.
21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.(N) 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God(O) 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God;(P) then he was no more, because God took him away.(Q)
25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.(R) 26 After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. 29 He named him Noah[c](S) and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.(T)” 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
32 After Noah was 500 years old,(U) he became the father of Shem,(V) Ham and Japheth.(W)
