¹⁵ He gave him the crown and his robe and the signet so that he might guide his son Antiochus and bring him up to be king.^{(A) 16} Thus King Antiochus died there in the one hundred forty-ninth year.^{(B) 17} When Lysias learned that the king was dead, he set up Antiochus the king’s^[a] son to reign. Lysias^[b] had brought him up from boyhood; he named him Eupator.^(C)
