36 Ez Ézsaúnak (azaz Edómnak) nemzetsége.
2 Ézsaú a Kananeusok leányai közûl vette vala feleségeit: Adát, a Khitteus Élonnak leányát; és Oholibámát, Anáhnak leányát, a ki Khivveus Czibhón leánya vala.
3 És Boszmáthot, az Ismáel leányát, Nebajóthnak húgát.
4 Szûlé pedig Adá Ézsaúnak Elifázt; és Boszmáth szûlé Rehuélt.
5 Oholibáma pedig szûlé Jehúst, Jahlámot és Kórét. Ezek az Ézsaú fiai, kik születtek néki Kanaán földén.
6 És felvevé Ézsaú az õ feleségeit, az õ fiait, és az õ leányait, és minden házabeli lelket, minden juhait, barmait, és minden jószágát, melyet szerzett vala Kanaán földén, és elméne [más] országba, az õ atyjafiának Jákóbnak színe elõl.
7 Mert az õ jószáguk több vala, semhogy együtt lakhattak volna, és tartózkodásuk földe nem bírja vala meg õket az õ nyájaik miatt.
8 Letelepedék tehát Ézsaú a Széir hegyén. Ézsaú pedig az Edóm.
9 Ez Ézsaúnak az Edomiták atyjának nemzetsége a Széir hegyen.
10 Ezek Ézsaú fiainak nevei: Elifáz, Adának Ézsaú feleségének fia. Rehuél, Boszmáthnak Ézsaú feleségének fia.
11 Elifáznak fiai valának: Thémán, Omár, Czefó, Gahtám és Kenáz.
12 Thimna pedig Elifáznak, az Ézsaú fiának ágyasa vala, ki Elifáznak szûlé Amáleket. Ezek Adának, Ézsaú feleségének fiai.
13 Ezek pedig a Rehuél fiai: Nakhath, Zerakh, Sammá, Mizzá. Ezek valának Boszmáthnak, Ézsaú feleségének fiai.
14 Oholibámának pedig, Ézsaú feleségének, Anáh leányának, ki Czibhón leánya volt, ezek valának fiai, kiket szûle Ézsaúnak: Jéhus, Jahlám és Korakh.
15 Ezek Ézsaú fiainak fejedelmei: Elifáznak, Ézsaú elsõszülöttének fiai: Thémán fejedelem, Omár fejedelem, Czefó fejedelem, Kenáz fejedelem.
16 Korakh fejedelem, Gahtám fejedelem, Amálek fejedelem. Ezek Elifáztól való fejedelmek Edómnak országában; ezek Adá fiai.
17 Rehuélnek pedig, az Ézsaú fiának fiai ezek: Nakhath fejedelem, Zerakh fejedelem, Sammá fejedelem, Mizzá fejedelem. Ezek Rehuéltõl való fejedelmek Edóm országában. Ezek Boszmáthnak, Ézsaú feleségének fiai.
18 Ezek pedig Oholibámának, Ézsaú feleségének fiai: Jéhus fejedelem, Jahlám fejedelem, Korakh fejedelem. Ezek Oholibámától, Anáh leányától, Ézsaú feleségétõl való fejedelmek.
19 Ezek Ézsaú fiai, és ezek azoknak fejedelmei; ez Edóm.
20 A Horeus Széirnek fiai, kik ama földön laknak vala ezek: Lótán, Sóbál, Czibhón, Anáh.
21 Disón, Eczer, Disán, Ezek a Horeusok fejedelmei, Széirnek fiai Edóm országában.
22 Lótánnak pedig fiai voltak: Hóri, Hémám, és Lótánnak húga, Timna.
23 Sóbálnak fiai ezek: Halván, Mánakháth, Hébál, Sefó, Onám.
24 Czibhónnak pedig fiai ezek: Aja és Anáh, az az Anáh, ki meleg forrásokat talált a pusztában, mikor atyjának Czibhónnak szamarait legelteté.
25 Anáhnak fiai ezek: Disón és Oholibáma Anáhnak leánya.
26 Disónnak fiai ezek: Hemdán, Esbán, Ithrán, Kherán.
27 Eczernek fiai ezek: Bilhán, Zahaván, Hakán.
28 Disánnak fiai ezek: Húcz és Arán.
29 A Horeusok közûl való fejedelmek pedig ezek: Lótán fejedelem, Sóbál fejedelem, Czibhón fejedelem, Anáh fejedelem.
30 Disón fejedelem, Eczer fejedelem, Disán fejedelem. Ezek a Horeusok közûl való fejedelmek az õ fejedelemségök szerint, Széir tartományában.
31 Ezek pedig a királyok, kik uralkodtak Edóm földén minekelõtte Izráel fiai között király uralkodott volna.
32 Király vala Edómban Bela, Behor fia, s az õ városának neve Dinhába vala.
33 És meghala Bela, uralkodék helyette Jóbáb, Zerakh fia, ki Boczrából való volt.
34 És meghala Jóbáb, és uralkodék helyette a Témán földébõl való Khusám.
35 És meghala Khusám és uralkodék helyette Hadád, a Bédád fia, a ki megveré a Midiánitákat a Moáb mezején; az õ városának neve pedig Hávit vala.
36 És meghala Hadád és uralkodék helyette a Masrekából való Szamlá.
37 És meghala Szamlá és uralkodék helyette Saul, a folyóvíz mellett való Rékhobóthból.
38 És meghala Saul és uralkodék helyette Báhál-Khanán, Akhbór fia.
39 És meghala Báhál-Khanán, Akhbór fia, és uralkodék helyette Hadár; és az õ városának neve Pahu, az õ feleségének pedig neve Mehetábéel, a ki Mézaháb leányának Matrédnak leánya vala.
40 Ezek pedig az Ézsaú nemzetségébõl való fejedelmek nevei, az õ családjok, helyök, és nevök szerint: Timná fejedelem, Halvá fejedelem, Jetéth fejedelem.
41 Oholibámá fejedelem, Éla fejedelem, Pinon fejedelem.
42 Kenáz fejedelem, Thémán fejedelem, Mibczár fejedelem.

The Family of Esau(A)
36 Now this is the genealogy of Esau, (B)who is Edom. 2 (C)Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the (D)Hittite; (E)Aholibamah[a] the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite; 3 and (F)Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth. 4 Now (G)Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, and Basemath bore Reuel. 5 And [b]Aholibamah bore Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob. 7 (H)For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and (I)the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock. 8 So Esau dwelt in (J)Mount Seir. (K)Esau is Edom.
9 And this is the genealogy of Esau the father of the Edomites in Mount Seir. 10 These were the names of Esau’s sons: (L)Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, and Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau. 11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, [c]Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and she bore (M)Amalek to Eliphaz. These were the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.
13 These were the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
14 These were the sons of [d]Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon. And she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.
The Chiefs of Edom
15 These were the chiefs of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn son of Esau, were Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz, 16 [e]Chief Korah, Chief Gatam, and Chief Amalek. These were the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. They were the sons of Adah.
17 These were the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, and Chief Mizzah. These were the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
18 And these were the sons of [f]Aholibamah, Esau’s wife: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, and Chief Korah. These were the chiefs who descended from Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah. 19 These were the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these were their chiefs.
The Sons of Seir
20 (N)These were the sons of Seir (O)the Horite who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22 And the sons of Lotan were Hori and [g]Hemam. Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 These were the sons of Shobal: [h]Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, [i]Shepho, and Onam.
24 These were the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the [j]water in the wilderness as he pastured (P)the donkeys of his father Zibeon. 25 These were the children of Anah: Dishon and [k]Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26 These were the sons of [l]Dishon: [m]Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. 27 These were the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and [n]Akan. 28 These were the sons of Dishan: (Q)Uz and Aran.
29 These were the chiefs of the Horites: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah, 30 Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, and Chief Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
The Kings of Edom
31 (R)Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel: 32 Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. 33 And when Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place. 34 When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. 35 And when Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith. 36 When Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. 37 And when Samlah died, Saul of (S)Rehoboth-by-the-River reigned in his place. 38 When Saul died, Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place. 39 And when Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor died, [o]Hadar reigned in his place; and the name of his city was [p]Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
The Chiefs of Esau
40 And these were the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families and their places, by their names: Chief Timnah, Chief [q]Alvah, Chief Jetheth, 41 Chief [r]Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon, 42 Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar, 43 Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. Esau was the father of [s]the Edomites.

Esau's Descendants
36 These are the generations of Esau (that is, (A)Edom). 2 Esau (B)took his wives from the Canaanites: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, (C)Oholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter[a] of Zibeon the Hivite, 3 and (D)Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, the sister of Nebaioth. 4 And Adah bore to Esau, (E)Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel; 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his livestock, all his beasts, and all his property that he had acquired in the land of Canaan. He went into a land away from his brother Jacob. 7 (F)For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together. 40 These are the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their clans and their dwelling places, by their names: the chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 41 Oholibamah, Elah, (Y)Pinon, 42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 43 Magdiel, and Iram; these are the chiefs of Edom (that is, Esau, the father of (Z)Edom), according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession.
