³ And the Lord said to him: ^(A)“I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built ^(B)to put My name there forever, ^(C)and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. ⁴ Now if you ^(D)walk before Me ^(E)as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you ^(F)keep My statutes and My judgments, ⁵ then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, ^(G)as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’

¹⁴ When they had come, they said to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and ^[a]care about no one; for You do not ^[b]regard the person of men, but teach the ^(A)way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?

Paul’s Sincerity

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in ^[a]simplicity and ^(A)godly sincerity, ^(B)not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.
