16 and over 3,000 assistants to keep track of the work and to supervise the workers. 17 He ordered the workers to cut and shape large blocks of good stone for the foundation of the temple.
18 Solomon's and Hiram's men worked with men from the city of Gebal,[a] and together they got the stones and logs ready for the temple.

16 besides three thousand [a]three hundred from the (A)chiefs of Solomon’s deputies, who supervised the people who labored in the work. 17 And the king commanded them to quarry large stones, costly stones, and (B)hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the [b]temple. 18 So Solomon’s builders, Hiram’s builders, and the Gebalites quarried them; and they prepared timber and stones to build the [c]temple.

16 as well as thirty-three hundred[a] foremen(A) who supervised the project and directed the workers. 17 At the king’s command they removed from the quarry(B) large blocks of high-grade stone(C) to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple. 18 The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram(D) and workers from Byblos(E) cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple.
