³ Now ^(A)Solomon loved the Lord, ^(B)walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he was sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.

⁴ And ^(A)the king went to ^(B)Gibeon to sacrifice there, ^(C)because that was the great high place; Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.

¹³ And the king defiled the high places that were opposite Jerusalem, which were on the right of ^(A)the mount of destruction which Solomon the king of Israel had built for ^(B)Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, for ^(C)Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Milcom the abomination of the sons of Ammon.

^26 (A)Did Solomon the king of Israel not sin regarding these things? ^(B)Yet among the many nations there was no king like him, and ^(C)he was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel; yet the foreign women caused even him to sin.
