2 However, the people were sacrificing on the high places,(A) because until that time a temple for the Lord’s name(B) had not been built. 3 Solomon loved the Lord(C) by walking in the statutes of his father David,(D) but he also sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
4 The king went to Gibeon(E) to sacrifice there because it was the most famous high place. He offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.(F)

2 (A)Meanwhile the people sacrificed at the high places, because there was no house built for the name of the Lord until those days. 3 And Solomon (B)loved the Lord, (C)walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.
4 Now (D)the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, (E)for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
