Solomon Requests Wisdom^(A)

3 Now ^(B)Solomon made ^[a]a treaty with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and married Pharaoh’s daughter; then he brought her ^(C)to the City of David until he had finished building his ^(D)own house, and ^(E)the house of the Lord, and ^(F)the wall all around Jerusalem.

Solomon’s Other Buildings

7 But Solomon took ^(A)thirteen years to build his own house; so he finished all his house.

⁸ And the house where he dwelt had another court inside the hall, of like workmanship. Solomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, ^(A)whom he had taken as wife.

¹⁰ Now ^(A)it happened at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house

¹¹ Thus ^(A)Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the king’s house; and Solomon successfully accomplished all that came into his heart to make in the house of the Lord and in his own house.

8 It ^(B)came to pass at the end of ^(C)twenty years, when Solomon had built the house of the Lord and his own house,

⁴ I made my works great, I built myself ^(A)houses, and planted myself vineyards.
