³⁸ Then the ^(A)fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood, and the stones and the dust; and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

³ And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, ^[a]distributing themselves, and a tongue ^[b]rested on each one of them.

¹² He ^(A)exercises all the authority of the first beast ^[a](B)in his presence. And he makes ^(C)the earth and those who live on it ^(D)worship the first beast, whose ^(E)fatal wound was healed. ¹³ He ^(F)performs great signs, so that he even makes ^(G)fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the presence of people.
