³⁴ Then he said, “Fill four ·jars [pitchers] with water, and pour it on the ·meat [^Lburnt offering; Lev. 1:1–17] and on the wood.” Then Elijah said, “Do it ·again [a second time],” and they did it ·again [a second time]. Then he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it the third time.

¹³ When Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his coat and went out and stood at the entrance to the cave.

Then a voice said to him, “Elijah! ·Why are you [What are you doing] here?”
