²⁹ As soon as he was king, he killed all the house of Jeroboam; he left to the house of Jeroboam not one who breathed, until he had destroyed it, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite^(A)—

⁶ Beerah his son, whom King Tiglath-pileser^[a] of Assyria carried away into exile; he was a chieftain of the Reubenites.

²⁶ So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of King Pul of Assyria, the spirit of King Tiglath-pileser^[a] of Assyria, and he carried them away, namely, the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the River Gozan, to this day.^(A)
