Then the king asked the man of Elohim, “Please make an appeal to Yahweh your Elohim, and pray for me so that I can use my arm again.” So the man of Elohim made an appeal to Yahweh, and the king was able to use his arm again, as he had earlier.

The king told the man of Elohim, “Come home with me; have something to eat and drink, and I will give you a gift.”

The man of Elohim told the king, “Even if you gave me half of your palace, I would never go with you to eat or drink there.

Then the king said to the man of God, “Intercede(A) with the Lord your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God interceded with the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before.

The king said to the man of God, “Come home with me for a meal, and I will give you a gift.”(B)

But the man of God answered the king, “Even if you were to give me half your possessions,(C) I would not go with you, nor would I eat bread(D) or drink water here.
