46 Furthermore, Solomon has assumed the royal throne.[a] 47 The king’s servants have even come to congratulate[b] our master[c] King David, saying, ‘May your God[d] make Solomon more famous than you and make him an even greater king than you!’[e] Then the king leaned[f] on the bed 48 and said[g] this: ‘The Lord God of Israel is worthy of praise because[h] today he has placed a successor on my throne and allowed me to see it.’”[i]

48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
