39 Then Zadok the priest took a horn of (A)oil from the tabernacle and (B)anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, (C)and all the people said, [a]“Long live King Solomon!” 40 And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth seemed to split with their sound.
41 Now Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they finished eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the horn, he said, “Why is the city in such a noisy uproar?”

40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
41 And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?

41 Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they were finishing their feast. On hearing the sound of the trumpet, Joab asked, “What’s the meaning of all the noise in the city?”(F)

39 Zadok the priest took a horn filled with olive oil[a] from the tent and poured it on[b] Solomon; the trumpet was blown and all the people declared, “Long live King Solomon!” 40 All the people followed him up, playing flutes and celebrating so loudly they made the ground shake.[c]
41 Now Adonijah and all his guests heard the commotion just as they had finished eating.[d] When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he asked, “Why is there such a noisy commotion in the city?”[e]
