11 Then Nathan asked Bathsheba,(A) Solomon’s mother, “Have you not heard that Adonijah,(B) the son of Haggith, has become king, and our lord David knows nothing about it? 12 Now then, let me advise(C) you how you can save your own life and the life of your son Solomon. 13 Go in to King David and say to him, ‘My lord the king, did you not swear(D) to me your servant: “Surely Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’

—¿No has oído que reina Adonías, hijo de Haguit, sin que lo sepa nuestro señor David? 12 Ahora pues, ven, déjame darte un consejo para que salves tu vida y la vida de tu hijo Salomón: 13 Ve, entra a la presencia del rey David y dile: “Mi señor el rey, ¿no has jurado tú a tu sierva diciendo: ‘Tu hijo Salomón reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono’? ¿Por qué, pues, reina Adonías?”.
