^61 (A)Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the Lord our God, walking in his statutes and keeping his commandments, as at this day.”

⁴ For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and ^(A)his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, ^(B)as was the heart of David his father.

³ “Now, O Lord, ^(A)please remember how I have walked before you in faithfulness and ^(B)with a whole heart, ^(C)and have done what is good in your sight.” ^(D)And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

7 Since we have these promises, beloved, ^(A)let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body^[a] and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

David's Charge to Solomon
