²⁹ that Your eyes may be open toward this ^[a]temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ^(A)‘My name shall be ^(B)there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes ^(C)toward this place.

²⁰ that Your eyes may be ^(A)open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your name, that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes ^(B)toward this place.

⁶ please let Your ear be attentive and ^(A)Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and ^(B)confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father’s house and I have sinned.

¹⁵ Now ^(A)My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. ¹⁶ For now ^(B)I have chosen and ^[a]sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and ^[b]My eyes and ^[c]My heart will be there perpetually.

¹⁶ ‘Since the day that I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, that ^(A)My name might be there; but I chose ^(B)David to be over My people Israel.’

¹¹ then there will be the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. There you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, and all your choice offerings which you vow to the Lord.

^18 (A)O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes ^(B)and see our desolations, and the city ^(C)which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.

^9 (A)but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, ^(B)though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.’

⁴ He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, ^(A)“In Jerusalem shall My name be forever.”

⁵ ‘Since the day that I brought My people out of the land of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, that My name might be there, nor did I choose any man to be a ruler over My people Israel. ^6 (A)Yet I have chosen Jerusalem, that My name may be there, and I ^(B)have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’
